Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Announced, Releasing April 21st

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Announced, Releasing April 21st

Samsung today announced two new flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Samsung has gone away with the ‘Edge’ name this time around and have

Introducing the stunning Infinity Display

The revolutionary design of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ begins from the inside out. We rethought every part of the phone’s layout to break through the confines of the smartphone screen. So all you see is pure content and no bezel. It’s the biggest, most immersive screen on a Galaxy smartphone of this size. And it’s easy to hold in one hand.

Both devices sport an end to end display, meaning there is very little frame around the screen, while keeping the devices a similar size to previous handsets in the past.

Beyond the bezel

The Infinity Display sets a new standard for uninterrupted, immersive experiences. It enables an expanded screen size without necessitating a larger phone. So while the view is grander, Galaxy S8 and S8+ feel small in your hand, making them easy to hold and use

Immerse yourself in a bigger view that still fits comfortably in your hand. Galaxy S8 and S8+ break free from the confines of bezels, offering a smooth, uninterrupted surface that flows seamlessly over the edges. To do this, we completely redesigned the phone from the inside out. And we embedded the home button under the screen, where it stays hidden until you need it. So you get a bigger, unobstructed view without a larger phone.

Both devices feature a 12MP Duel Pixel Sensor rear camera featuring an f 1.7 lens and ‘Smart Auto Focus’ and 4k Video recording and an 8MP rear camera.

A camera built for every moment

Capture life as it happens with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ cameras. The 12MP rear camera and the 8MP front camera are so accurate and fast that you won’t miss a moment, day or night.

Capture the night

The dark is no match for Galaxy S8 and S8+’s rear camera. The bright F1.7 lens and large 1.4µm pixels bring in more light when there’s not enough around. So what you see is what you’ll get in the shot.

A new way to unlock your phone, Samsung introduces Iris scan technology on both the handsets

“We care deeply about your privacy. So we put in place effective mechanisms that prevent unwanted snooping, while making it surprisingly convenient for you. There’s iris scanning for airtight security, face recognition for unlocking your phone right away, and defense-grade security that stands guard around the clock.”

The patterns in your irises are unique to you and are virtually impossible to replicate, meaning iris authentication is one of the safest ways to keep your phone locked and the contents private.

Both Devices also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ will launch worldwide on April 21st.
